Ms. Killen's Message

At LPECC, all children are encouraged to learn through purposeful play each day. This approach seems to mesh very well with the FLAIR curriculum. The children are able to communicate in French with each other and their teachers as they work on activities based on the Louisiana Birth to Five Standards as well as the required French Immersion curriculum. Studies indicate that learning a foreign language at this age helps children learn at a faster pace. I have been amazed at how quickly the children are able to use both languages interchangeably as they work in the room with their classmates and then play on the playground with everyone else. I am thankful that the Lincoln Parish School Board is progressive enough to embrace French Immersion and commit to the continuation of this opportunity for years to come.
